Hey, what are those things?

Philip has officially found his feet! Now one of his favorite things to do is grab on to them while I change his diaper. Can't say I don't appreciate the help!

The milestones just keep rolling by. I'm anxiously awaiting the day when he can sit unsupported. Hopefully it will make bath time (another one of Philip's new favorite activities) a little less complicated.

And then there's that big, elusive milestone that I can only dream about so far... that is when I'm able to sleep long enough to dream: SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT. Needless to say, Phil and I are both very excited about that developmental milestone. We've put in a long, hard five months of interrupted sleep and are ready for a well-deserved break. Keep your fingers crossed for us that Philip has similar goals! :-)

I'm fairly certain we could not have had a child who was a more perfect blend of me and Phil!

Eco Baby!

It took us a while to get to this point, but Philip is officially a cloth-diapered baby! Nearly 5 months old and already doing his part to save the planet! ;-)

Cloth diapers put disposables to shame! Our favorites are Bum Genius, Sposeasys, and good old fashion Green Mountain Diaper prefolds with Thirsties and Wiggle Worm Bottoms covers.

Cloth diapering is so much easier and more fun than it sounds, and the ick factor is really no worse than when dealing with throw-away diapers. Blowouts in cloth are vitually non-existant, so maybe the ick factor is even less!

Solids... take one.

Per our pediatrician's recommendation, Philip had his first sampling of rice cereal tonight. We're not sure how he felt about it, or how much was actually ingested versus worn, but we all gave it the old college try nonetheless!






Needless to say, Philip's first session with solids was immediately followed by a bath!

Philip had his picture taken by our super talented photographer Jennifer yesterday. He did such a good job! Jennifer photographed him at 6 weeks old--what a difference the past 3 months have made!
